Boston Bruins prospect goaltender Dan Vladar is adjusting very well in his first year of minor pro hockey in the B’s developmental leagues in this early 2016-17 hockey season. The 6′-5″ 185-pound third round selection of the Bruins in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft was sent to the Atlanta Gladiators of the ECHL to start his professional career and did very well in his first game on October 20, 2016, against last year’s Kelly Cup Champion the Allen Americans.

Earlier this week he got the call-up to the AHL’s Providence Bruins and got into his first game with the Bruins top minor-pro team against the Toronto Marlies. Although the Baby B’s lost 4-3 in overtime, Vladar’s efforts couldn’t go unnoticed as he saved 35 of 39 shots while displaying a great deal of athleticism. Last night would be a different story for the 19-year-old as he earned his first AHL win in a 4-2 contest on the road against the Utica Comets. Vladar played very well and frustrated the home Comets team with many of his 31 saves being called spectacular.

Vladar will backup returning goaltender Malcolm Subban tonight as he’s with the Providence team after being returned from the NHL Bruins during emergency call-ups due to injuries at the top of the Bruins organization. The 2-3-2-0 Baby B’s are on the road again tonight as they get set to play the 3-2-0-0 Syracuse Crunch at 7 pm tonight at the Onondaga County War Memorial Arena in Syracuse, NY.  Next game for the Providence team is Friday, November 4, 2016, as they host the Lehigh Valley Phantoms from the Dunk at 7:05 pm.

Here are last night’s highlights against the Utica Comets and Vladar’s first AHL victory
